Pilonidal Sinus

There is a cavity filled with hairs occurs most commonly in your ger groups who sit for a long time.
In this disease the patient complains of painful swelling at lower back, difficulty in sitting occasionally low grade fever.
As the time progress patient has repeated episodes of pain in the back with discharge.
Sometimes you may see hairs coming out from the wound(pit).
Surgery is the only treatment. Recurrence is also known less in the hands of experienced surgeon.
Surgery can be simple lay open, primary closure and in recurrent or larger lesions a flap closure.
